On Thursday evening December 3rd, at approx. 2020 hrs the Collingswood FD along with Engine 15 (Westmont) were dispatched to Route 130 & Collings Ave for a reported MVA - Rescue. Chief 1601 (Amet) arrived to report a Tractor Trailer vs. a Pole w/ the driver heavily entrapment and special called Rescue 32. Rescue 32 w/ 7 & Battalion 303 (Christinzio) arrived within 6 minutes of dispatch and met w/ Command. Crews went in-service to stabilize the tractor & trailer with struts and 6x6 cribbing. Once stable the companies worked to access the driver via the passenger side by removing the door and creating a 3rd door in the rear cab. Due to the drivers position dash, seat, & pedal dosplacements were required to free the driver. Rescue 1 (Camden) was also brought in to control the ruptured fuel tanks. Companies worked together extensively for approx. 2 hours w/ numerous hydraulic, electric, & pneumatic tools to complete the operation.
